For 170 years, the Smithsonian Institution has inspired generations through its steadfast dedication to the “increase and diffusion of knowledge”. In a globalized world, it is more important than ever to promote the Smithsonian values of Discovery, Creativity, Excellence, Diversity, Integrity, and Service. This is why Walking Tree Travel, in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution, is pleased to offer a collection of dynamic programs for high school students – Smithsonian Student Adventures. These educational immersion programs, launched in November 2016, highlight our shared mission of learning and discovery, and offer a unique opportunity for student travelers to explore the world in a meaningful way.

Going forward, all Walking Tree Travel Open Enrollment programs for individual high school students will be offered as Smithsonian Student Adventures. These small group programs, which last from 7-30 days, are open to any individual high school student from across the USA. In 2018, each program has space for around 16 participants. See a complete listing of available programs below.

Tuition includes:Open Enrollment tuition includes all accommodations, basic travel insurance, three meals per day, drinking water, ground transportation, group activity and entry fees, full time leadership team and taxes and tips

Tuition excludes:

International airfare, personal expenses such as souvenirs, internet, laundry, snacks, and international phone calls and baggage fees.
